The Crown Season 3: Olivia Colman will take over as the Queen Elizabeth, cast, plot & more

As the Netflix has confirmed that The crown season 3 will be released in the latter half of 2019 i.e after July. And the new season will be showing 70’s phase hence it will have a new cast which has already been finalized.

About The Crown Series of Netflix :

The crown is a historical drama web series produced by Sony pictures television and Left Bank pictures for Netflix. This series is based upon the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It is created and written by Peter Morgan.

This series is intended to have over 6 seasons consisting of 60 episodes. It has successfully completed it’s two seasons. And as we all know that it’s the third season will be out soon.

The last series showed the era of the late 1950s and early ’60s in which the Queen and Prince Philip’s were in a relationship. It also has shown the events that led to Princess Margaret’s wedding to Lord Snowdon.

Now, Season three will jump ahead to the 1970s when the Queen and Philip will be in their 50’s that is why season 3 would have an entirely new cast.

The cast of The Crown Season 3:

In the third season Olivia Colman will take over as Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy and Helena Bonham Carter will replace the Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and Tobias Menzies will play the role of Prince Philip which was played by Matt Smith.

Josh O’Connor and Erin Doherty will play the character of Queen’s grown children that is Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

Netflix has confirmed that the newcomer Emma Corrin will play the role of the late Princess Diana in series 3.


Tentative Releasing date :

The Crown season 3 will be premiered in the latter half of 2019. So we could expect a release date near November and December. But these are all just speculations and Netflix hadn’t released any official airdate The Crown season 3. But despite that fans are waiting for any and all information that Netflix is releasing related to the Crown.
