A French artist has decided to pay homage to the late legend Stan Lee in Paris. The creator of the Marvel Universe has his own mural gracing the streets of Paris. Reddit users revealed the mural of Lee smiling amidst the Marvel logo in the background.
The mural also featured some of the most recognizable characters in the Marvel Universe. The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man all appeared in the mural alongside Stan Lee. The artwork included the famous slogan “Excelsior!” along with the message “You were the best hero! R.I.P 1922-2018.”
Although this mural presented itself as a stunning tribute to the beloved MCU creator, several other artworks have popped up after Stan Lee’s death. Glasgow, Los Angeles, California, Scotland have their murals with Lee’s face gracing the walls.
Stan Lee’s legacy is fondly remembered by fans even after his death in November. The stories and characters he had built up for over 60 years, makes him one of the greatest comic book writers in history. For years fans have identified with and loved these stories and characters.
The cast and crew of Marvel also paid tribute to the legend. A set photo of his final cameo in Avengers: Endgame was released by the Russo Brothers, as well. The opening for Captain Marvel also paid an emotional tribute to the legend in March. His exchange with Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel and his voice over in Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, were some of his last cameos in Marvel film and television.
Lee passed away before he could witness Avengers: Endgame. His final year was muddled with multiple robberies at his estate. His wife had passed away and he had to seek a restraining order from his business manager. His business manager now faces charges of elder abuse for his actions towards Stan Lee. The latest movie of the MCU, Spiderman: Far From Home is slated to release on July 3rd this year.
