The ending of Riverdale season 3 teased a massive cliffhanger final scene that hinted at the possible death of Jughead. There were surprising exits from the show and even more surprising entrances.
Well, ever since the last season concluded, fans have been wondering where the teen drama will take us next. A large part of the show will focus on Luke Perry’s death and Fred Andrew’s fate in the upcoming season
Show creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in an interview with Vanity Fair said, “We thought that rather than try to squeeze something in, we would let the season play out and then really do it justice and honor both Luke and Fred at the beginning of Season 4.”

It seems that the core four will be sticking together for now. Apart from Veronica, Archie, Betty, and Jughead, there have been a lot of exits. The death of Fred Andrew’s will be explained, while the fates of major characters like Hal Cooper, Alice, Penelope, Evelyn and more is in the air after the season 3 finale.
Josie who plays the love-interest of Kj Apa aka Archie will not be returning. Their romance ended abruptly when she told him she was going on tour with her father.
Wyatt Nash who made his Riverdale debut in season three finale will be re-cast as Charles, the half-sibling to both Jughead and Betty. Besides Wyatt and the core four, it is unclear who will make it to season 4.
