The model is famous for her popularity in the fashion world and being ambassador to various famous brands. But recently she is in the news for her disrespect towards the Middle East flags as claimed by her fans and citizens of the Middle East. She was there in UAE for some event and while in the airport, she posted a picture where her black boots are seen as if indicating the flags on the planes with a caption “anotha one.”
Feud on Instagram and Twitter
After she posted the picture, her fans got all angry and disappointed that they started commenting on how disrespectful her act was and how she hurt their sentiments. The picture along with the news got viral in no time and took over Twitter where the hashtag “ #BellaHadidracist” started. People started trending the hashtag with an appeal to remove the model’s picture from the malls in UAE and break terms with her. Some people even took it to shame her badly.
What did it result in?
Bella Hadid didn’t expect such a feud and posted an apology writing. It was utterly unintentional and included no politics. In one apology she wrote, ” I am posting this to clear up a few things that have been weighing in my heart” and then “ To begin I would never want my posts or platform to be used for hate against anyone especially, those of my own Beautiful and Powerful heritage. I love and care so much about the Muslim and Arab side of the family as well my bother’s and sisters throughout the world” moreover she added that her Teta ( grandmother) and father always taught her good values.
But due to the demand of the fans and citizens, the biggest mall in UAE had to take actions by removing the model’s pictures for the brand like Dior. Moreover, they tweeted that for them the Nation’s culture and heritage and respect is always an important matter.
