Matt Damon, Ben Affleck Gearing Up for New Movie With Ridley Scott set in 14th Century.

After a long time, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are going to co-write a script together. Last time we saw them working together in 1997’s Good Will Hunting.

Apart from the duo, there is a third person who is helping them to write the script. Oscar-nominated writer as well as director; Nicole Holofcener will join this Oscar-winning team for the screenplay.

The upcoming film is titled as ‘The Last Duel’ which is based on a book by Eric Jager. Apart from writing the script of the movie, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will also costar in the film. According to the reports, Ridley Scott will be in charge to direct the movie.

The movie is based on the book and also draws inspiration from the title of the book.. ‘The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France’ was originally published in 2004. Fox had the plan to make it a live-action movie, but due to the merger of Fox and Disney, it was delayed. But now it seems like everything is going as planned.

The book is set in the 14th century in France which, according to the reports, might depict the story of the two best friends. So these two lead goes by the name of Norman knight Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris.

The former goes to fight a war leaving his wife behind. But when he comes back, he finds that his wife has been rapped and the accused is Le Gris. But nobody there believed the words of his wife. Later it is decided that Carrouges and Le Gris have to fight a duel and the one who lives will be said to have the grace of God.
