Apple is set to launch its next models in the year-end but what is getting more attention are the iPhones that will be released in 2020. After the news that Apple is eliminating some of the interesting features from the 2019 model, many investors have fetched their interest back. Now the information that is revolving around can add value to the wait for the 2020s model.
Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most influential Apple analysts, now brought to the notice that Apple is going to instill 5G facilities in each of its 5G models. The document that was prepared by Kuo was obtained by MacRumors. It contains some of the great predictions about not only the 2020 iPhones but Android segment phones also.
The released piece of information says “We now believe that all three new 2H20 iPhone models will support 5G for the following reasons. (1) Apple has more resource for developing the 5G iPhone after the acquisition of Intel baseband business. (2) We expect that the prices of 5G Android smartphones will decline to $249-349 USD in 2H20. We believe that 5G Android smartphones, which will be sold at $249-349 USD, will only support Sub-6GHz. But the key is that consumers will think that 5G is the necessary function in 2H20. Therefore, iPhone models which will be sold at higher prices have to support 5G for winning more subsidies from mobile operators and consumers’ purchase intention. (3) Boosting 5G developments could benefit Apple’s AR ecosystem.”
Though the predictions make you aware of the information that all of 2020 models will have 5G in them, previously it was speculated that only the two expensive versions will have the feature. It’s appealing for those who are planning to invest in the budgeted version.
The mmWave bands are termed as an ultra-high frequency range which is used in 5G for blazing-fast speeds and low latency. Without the bands you cant experience that same speed you are hearing about. According to Kuo Apple will ave both Sub-6GHz and mmWave bands available on all 2020 models including the cheaper ones.
For this, he stated “Apple may have the intention to launch the 5G iPhone, which only supports Sub-6GHz, to gain market share by lowering the cost/price for markets which only support Sub-6GHz (e.g., Chinese market). However, 5G iPhone, which only supports Sub-6GHz and the version which supports mmWave & Sub-6GHz are regarded as different projects even though they share the same form factor design.”
Well, it is also predicted that the inexpensive version of 2020 iPhones is not that much cheaper. Speculations say that the budgeted iPhone will cost $750 or more. Obviously, at this cost, one can’t imagine a phone with crippled 5G services in the era where 5G will rule over the purchasers’ minds.
