The American superhero film series based on Marvel comic books superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy is two volumes through. The Volume 2 of the Walt Disney produced movies premiered in Tokyo on April 10, 2017. The three dimensional featured movie was aired on May 5, 2017 and was one of the highest grossing movies of that year.
The most awaited movie of the year, Avengers: Endgame, has led to a lot of speculation as to the role of Thor, in the Volume 3 of the Marvel Series. Marvel has announced, Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor’s fourth solo movie set to be released in 2021. However, no tentative date has been announced for Volume 3 of Guardians of Galaxy; so, will Thor have a major role in it, or the Endgame was built up just for the solo movie?
The director and writer, James Gunn, had apparently been hinting a lot about Marvel Studio’s Phase 4 – Guardians of Galaxy 3, had thus Disney had fired him in July 2018. Now, Gunn has been rehired, and reported to work on The Suicide Squad first.
The Infinity War had almost ensured only that the third Guardians movie would just have to follow Rocket (with the voice Bradley Cooper) and Nebula (Karen Gillan). The fans took a sigh of relieve when the ‘snap’ was reversed and almost all characters made it out alive.
Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis and Groot are restored to life for the big battle. Through some major time travels, Gamora has also been brought back to life, after Thanos murdered her in Infinity War.
Though, the Avengers, Thor has never starred in Guardian comics, other Avengers including Iron Man, Captain Marvel and Ant-Man are jokingly referred to as the ‘Asgardians of the Galaxy’, which is the name of the marvel comic featuring a team of Thor related characters.
The fans have seen many back-and-forth behind the scenes, but as of now there is no official trailer of release date of the sequel to Guardians of Galaxy Volume 2.
