Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling Adopt Rescue Dog Lucho

In July, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling added a new member to their family. Is it another child? No, it’s a dog!

The 45-year-old Hitch actress posted to her Instagram to announce the adoption. She and her long-time partner had adopted a Doberman puppy from the Friends for Life Rescue Network.

Eva’s Instagram Post

“Meet Lucho. The newest member of our family,” she wrote on Instagram with a picture of herself wrapping her arms around her new pooch in the setting sun. “We adopted him from this amazing agency called Friends for Life Rescue Network @fflrescuenetwork.”

The actress also encourages her fans and followers to go the route of adoption from rescue groups if they were thinking of getting a pet. She suggested that donation to such non-profit organizations would also be a great help if adoption weren’t possible.

She writes, “If you’re looking for a fluffy family member, adoption is a great option. So many little dudes out there needing a home. If you’re not able to have a pet but love animals, you can donate to this nonprofit… Your donation helps keep animals off the streets and out of shelters where they euthanize ❤️”

Both Eva and Gosling are fanatic dog lovers. Mendes had a Belgian Malinois Hugo, who died in 2014, and Gosling owned a loyal canine George, died on December 2016 at the age of 17.

The mother of two often jokes about how bringing up her dogs prepared her for motherhood.
