Netflix just released the first look into Ryan Murphy’s production The Politician. With ten brand new pictures, Netflix amps up viewer intrigue.

Image result for the politician netflix first lookThe satirical comedy is all set to drop on the streaming site on September 27. The show is rumored to be an 8-episode series. It is already supposed to have two seasons.

The show is star-studded with big names like Tony winner Ben Platt as its protagonist. Some other impressive casts joining the show are Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoey Dutch, Jessica Lange and Platt’s Dear Evan Hansen co-star Laura Dreyfuss. Lucy Boynton, Rahne Jones, Theo Germaine, Julia Schlaepfer and Bob Balaban will also be cast.

Plot

The semi-musical follows the story of Payton Hobart, played by Ben Platt, a wealthy high school student in Santa Barbara, California. Payton has always dreamt of becoming the President of the United States, and he is determined to make it come true. Before achieving this life goal though, he has to pass the most crucial political test of all: getting through Saint Sebastian High School.

In his political journey at school, he runs for Student Body President while aiming to get into Harvard, all while “staying on his singular path to success.” He is faced with several obstacles in the way of his scheming classmates who he has to outsmart without compromising his image and diplomacy.
