Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have broken-up after merely eight months of marriage, as was confirmed by one of their representatives in a statement, saying, ‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.’
The two first met on the sets of The Last Song way back in 2009, and have been in a relationship during multiple stints then, having broken-up and then mended their ties on numerous occasions in the past, notably in 2013, 2015, and most recently in 2017.
Then, in December last year, without any prior announcement, the couple were married in a quiet ceremony near Franklin, Tennessee and only made facets of the highly-private wedding public through a handful of social media posts.
Soon after, rumors emerged in January this year that Cyrus was pregnant and that the couple was expecting, but were refuted outright by the singer herself on Twitter.
Not much transpired through the course of this summer until a recent Instagram post on Cyrus’ account seemed to indicate troubled waters for many fans and observers.
Captioned ‘Mute me if you don’t want spammed,’ the picture showed the singer sprawled on a chair wearing a black outfit, with her wedding ring conspicuously absent.
Later, Cyrus was spotted hanging out with Brody Jenner’s ex, Kaitlynn Carter during her Lake Como vacation, and paparazzi shots of two kissing one another surfaced thereafter, creating an online frenzy.
The aforementioned statement confirming the split was thus released as a response, with the rest of it remarking, ‘Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They remain dedicated parents to all of the animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.’
Neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth have yet personally addressed the split through either of their social media accounts.
