A 53-year-old father from Nevada who primarily was accused of shooting and killing his 14-year-old son back in 2017 has now been granted to stay on his house under house arrest.
Wendell Melton, back in 2017 murdered his 14-year-old son, Giovanni, and to the police, he reported that he murdered his son over an argument which was developed after the teenage son skipped school. When he nudged his son to the ground, he lost his cool, take out his gun and as claimed by him, accidentally shot Giovanni on the chest.
But that’s the father’s side of the story whereas his other family members believed that Wendell Melton killed his son in Henderson, Nevada because Giovanni was a gay and he didn’t want to have a gay son. Veronica Melton, Giovanni’s mother and ex-wife to the murderer, undoubtedly believed that this was the doing of Wendell’s for that very reason.
Giovanni’s foster mother, Sonja Jones also claimed that Wendell never liked that truth of his son. She further added that Wendell would go on, to have a dead son rather than a gay son. When Giovanni was caught with his boyfriend, Giovanni’s brother told that Wendell pulled up his gun.
The bond for Wendell previously was set for $808,000, but now out of nowhere, despite being charged with domestic violence, child battery and illegal possession of a gun, Wendell’s bond has been reduced to $200,000. Veronica Melton strongly felt that justice hadn’t been served honestly to her.
Giovanni lived alone in an apartment owned by his father even though he was just fourteen. The Spokesperson from the Police Department in Henderson never mentioned the sexual orientation as the purpose of murder. The officer, Scott Williams, told that this was just a rumor and they are treating the fact that way.
Wendell is now on house arrest waiting for his trial.
