The American actor Peter Fonda who took his first breath on the 23rd of February 1940 left us and the world on the 16th of August 2019. Peter was born in New York City, US. He was the only son of the actor Henry Fonda and his wife Frances Ford Seymour and his sister Jane Fonda.
Cause Of His Death
The actor died of lung cancer at the age of 79 and died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on Friday. His Family in a statement said: “It is with the deep sorrow that we share the news that Peter Fonda has passed away. In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts. As we grieve, we ask that we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate hid indomitably and love of life.”
The Tragic Journey
His mother committed suicide at a mental hospital when he was only ten years old. Peter shot himself on his eleventh birthday and nearly died but fortunately was saved. and after a gap of many when he discussed the incident he said, “I know it’s like to be dead”.
Peter studied acting in Omaha, Nebraska. And completed his graduation from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Peter was married to Susan Jane Brewer in the year 1961 and both had two children, Bridget, and Justin Fonda but divorced after thirteen years in 1974. Peter then tied a holy knot with Portia Rebeca Crockett in 1975 and after a long and happy life of about thirty-seven years separated in 2011 and after this also he married Margaret DeVogelaere in 2011.
An Acclaimed Actor and Much More
Peter was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Easy Ride, and the Academy Award for Best Actor for Ulee’s Gold. He even won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor- series, miniseries or Television Film for The Passion of Ayan Rand. In the year 2000, he also won a Golden Palm Star on the Plam Springs, California, Walk of Stars.
