The sequel, to the Mistress of Evil, Maleficent starer, Angelina Jolie is all set for release on October 2019. Midst, this news, fans attending the annual D23 Expo 2019 were lucky enough to see footage of the sequel.
After the 2014 release of the first movie, at the expo, the cast of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, surprise fans on stage. Angelina Jolie reveals the story ahead. She talks about the challenges, Maleficent and Aurora have to face for being different. Emphasizing on the strength a family bond has, the trailer depicts more drama and emotions coming our way.
The role Aurora is played by the twenty-one-year-old, Mary Elle Fanning. She has previously worked in television shows The Lost Room and The Great. Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays the role of Queen Ingris, says she is excited to be a part of the second film, and also feels a sense of belonging with her co-stars.
In the exclusive footage unveiled, viewers saw Maleficent and Aurora discuss meeting Prince Phillip’s parent for dinner. In the continued scene, the cold vibe is very much prevalent between the queen and Maleficent at the dinner table. When the queen pesters whether Aurora’s father died or was killed, Maleficent replies, “both.” Furthermore, in the footage, actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, is spotted with horns.
The co-director of the movie, Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Joachim Ronning, has directed the upcoming sequel. Linda Woolverton wrote the story and produced by Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson with Matt Smith, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Michael Vieira as executive producers.
Days after she dropped her eldest son, Maddox, at university, Jolie said that it is lovely being a part of the Disney Family, and all her kids are excited for the ‘Legend-in-making.’
In all likelihood Mistress of Evil, will hit the theatres on October 18, 2019.
