Spider-Man fans take a sigh of relief, as rumors of Disney’s collaboration with actor, Tom Holland start floating around.
The clash between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony may now hopefully be short-lived. According to speculations, parent company Disney and film right holder, Sony Pictures may be reconsidering a new deal, which would let the superhero be a part of Marvel movies for a long time.
Though unconfirmed, many news sites report that the deal includes six to seven, exclusive Spider-Man feature films starring actor Tom Holland as the protagonist.
The twenty-three-year-old, English actor, Thoams Stanley Holland has previously starred in movies including Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: End Game and Spider-Man: Far from Home.
On Saturday, Tom Holland, made an appearance, at Disney’s ultimate, annual fan event, D23 Expo to promote his Pixar film, Onward.
Out of the expected seven films, one of them would, apparently, conclude Peter Parker’s high school years and he would be going through the ups and downs of college life. There are even plans for Peter to team up with the Human Torch, and Firestar in these films, as per the legendary and classic, animated series, Spider-Man, and his Amazing Friends.
Also, there is a possibility that Disney might integrate the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, which includes 2018’s Venom and sequel Venom 2 and upcoming film, Moribus, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Off late, social media was flooded with #SaveSpiderMan. In fact, Tom Holland’s father and British comedian, author and broadcaster, Dominic Holland, tweeted, “Save Spider-Man,” with a link to his own blog.
Thankfully, though not official, if the talks have resumed between Sony and Marvel, an amicable solution will be chalked out soon.
Only time can tell, if these speculations will come true.
