Marvel president Kevin Feige announced during the D23 fan convention on Saturday that the Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington a.k.a Jon Snow will be joining the cast of “The Eternals.” Feige welcomed the cast onto the stage, but the Primetime Emmy Award nominee was absent from the event, and his image flashed on the screen as Feige introduced him as the non-mortal character Dane Whitman(a.k.a Black Knight). The film which is set to release on November 6, 2020, is created by Disney Legend and one of the most prolific creators Jack Kirby.
Other members of the cast included GOT alumnus Richard Madden as Ikaris an eternal fueled by cosmic energy, Angelina Jolie as warrior Thena, Salma Hayek as leader of Eternals- Ajak, Lauren Ridloff as the fastest eternal Makkari, Lia McHugh as Sprite an eternal stuck in a 12-year-olds body and Gemma Chan as Sersi who first appeared in Strange Tales. Feige gave some context to the fresh project saying, “This story spans thousands of years, we pull back the cosmic curtain on MCU in ways you can’t imagine.”
Harrington’s character Dane Whitman is the nephew of the Villainous Black Knight who was injured following a battle with Iron Man. The fictional superhero is incomplete with his sweet ride Aragorn, a winged horse. He proves his worth to the Avengers after he infiltrates the Masters of Evil which wins him a provisional ticket offered by Avengers. We hope the iconic actor will do justice to the role in the movie, which is directed by Chloé Zhao.
