2019 VMAs is not for Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande attended the last VMAs with her fiance Pete Davidson. Safe to say a lot has changed over the year for Grande. She has provided us with back to back hits, and her efforts were recognized as she was nominated under multiple categories.

Nominations for the night

She was up for Video of the Year (“Thank U, Next”), Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“Thank U, Next”), and Best Pop Song (“Thank U, Next”), Best Hip Hop Song (“Rule the World” by 2 Chainz, featuring Ariana Grande), Best Direction (Hannah Lux Davis for Ariana’s “Thank U, Next” video), Best Visual Effects (Grande’s “God Is a Woman” music video), Best Editing (“7 Rings”), Best Art Direction (“7 Rings”), and Best Cinematography (“Thank U, Next”).

The night of theĀ award show

Ariana tweeted to her fans that there was not much of a chance for her to make it as she had shows before and after in London. MTV was not happy as they preferred awarding artists that were present at the meeting. They were in a bit of a fix about the situation. The awards are given based on votes from the audience.
