A mother in Florida was convicted of domestic battery and child abuse after she beat her two sons with an extension cord just because they ate a can of ravioli.
The 31-year-old mother named Latamara Taylor strictly prohibited the young boys, aged nine and six, to eat ravioli. On the day of May 24, the boys got hungry after they were left home alone by her mother, who was on the work. They called her to ask if they could eat the food, but Taylor didn’t answer the phone. The boys got hungrier and began to share the can of ravioli.
When Latamara Taylor got home, she noticed the boys eating ravioli, and immediately she started to whip the boys with an extension cord. The marks of beatings were all over the body’s of boys, in the areas of legs, lower torso, thighs, hips, and buttocks areas.
This incident didn’t get the attention previously. When Taylor was arrested for allegedly hitting the boy’s father with a car, then the Florida Department of Children and Families started their investigation, and that incident with the boys emerged out.
Taylor drove the boys to their father’s house, and the boys witness Taylor hitting their father. When the investigators approached the boys, they started to reveal everything, starting from marks in their body. Investigators claimed that the boys didn’t receive medical treatment even after such trouble.
Now the woman who whipped her son has been taken under custody, and she spent a night in at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in West Miami-Dade County.
