Not long ago, on 21 July 2019, “Avengers: Endgame” became the highest-grossing movie dethroning James Cameron’s “Avatar.” However, it is still running in a few theaters. That means it’s making strong it’s base for the upcoming movies to break its record.
Based on field workplace receipts obtained by exhibitors and studios, Avengers: Endgame, still continue to run in over 100 theaters in the U.S.
As Forbes noted, Avengers: Infinity War ended its domestic run on September 13, 2018, but it kept playing in a foreign market by 2019. Something similar is expected from its successor.
The movie will probably complete it’s run over October with the release of “IT: Chapter 2” by the time of Halloween.
AVENGER ENDGAME’S BOX OFFICE COLLECTION BY FAR
Avengers: Endgame has earned more than $850 million at the domestic box office and nearly $ 2.8 billion worldwide. Reportedly, the movie took in $2,820 at 110 locations and $16,000 on Labor Day. The movie collected a total of $86k to its total over the four day labor day weekend.
Even though the figures didn’t put the movie into the top 10 list for the weekend, but the statistics are impressive for a film released back in April.
Although it is not uncommon for Blockbusters like Avengers to have some overlap between their theatrical run and home video release. Endgame was released on April 26, 2019, and was available for streaming by July 30, 2019.
Endgame’s follow-up title, concluding MCU’s phase 3 journey “Spiderman: Far From Home” continues to earn relatively well over 3000 theaters. It can be argued that both movies benefited each other due to the connections between them. But unfortunately, fans might not see another movie under Sony/ Marvel collaboration due to disputes between the two banners.
Avengers is expected to exceed the box office collection by $8 million. The final endgame tally will probably not be known by the end of this year. It’s hard to imagine what movie will be able to beat endgame in the future. But Endgame has undoubtedly set up few records that are not that easy to break.
