Our beloved, Robert Downey Jr. has played the character of the superhero, Tony Stark aka Iron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films since 2008.
Though the 2019 release, Avengers: Endgame has received the much-needed appreciation and accreditation, directors of the movie, Ruso Brothers feel that Downey Jr. deserves an Oscar for his incredible performance that has touched the hearts of the audience across the globe.
In a candid conversation, at the film Festival at Venice, Joe Russo was quoted saying by sites that they do not make movies for awards, but he is in strong support of Downey Jr.
“I don’t know in if I’ve ever seen- in movie history- a global audience reacts to a performance the way did to Robert Downey in that movie. There were people bawling in movie theatres, hyperventilating. I mean, that is a profound performance, when you can touch audiences all over the world to that degree. We’ve never seen anything like that, and if that doesn’t deserve an Oscar, I don’t know what does.”
The 22nd film of Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Endgame,’ with a run time of about 180 minutes, is currently, the highest-grossing movie worldwide.
Building the crescendo, the final movie of Marvel Universe’s Phase 3, has done more than justice.
