“Spider-Man: Far From Home” brought Jake Gyllenhaal in the Marvel Universe. His portrayal of Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, was widely applauded. Although in the initial part of the film the Beck was shown as a friend to Peter Parker, but fans of the comics knew the real truth. Beck was never a friend to Parker but rather a villain, and Jon Watts essentially abide by the comics.
Nevertheless, we saw Quentin Beck getting defeated by his frenemy Peter Parker, and getting succumbed. But multiple conspiracy theories are hinting on the fact that Mysterio might comeback in the future installments, and the war between the two is not over yet. Although no official confirmations have been given from the makers, neither the actors. In a recent interview, Gyllenhaal was asked about his possible return, to which he skillfully dodged.
The actor recently attended a talk at Google panel for his Broadway play “Sea Wall/ A life.” When an audience member asked about the character’s future in the coming installments of the franchise, he carefully diverged from it. He very cunningly said:” Oh, I lost my mike, sorry. Oh Whoops, I lost my mike! I can’t answer your question.” He also gave an ambiguous answer to the panel:” No, I mean, I think that I think… he’s dead, man. Right?”
In “Spider-Man: Far from Home” Mysterio reportedly died, fighting Peter Parker. To this comes a possible theory which “Screen Rant” suggested. Although Mysterio could have tricked Parker with illusion and successfully could have escaped. But Parker’s spider-sense helped him to make the difference between illusion and reality. Jon Watt, in an interview with Comicbook.com, said: “It’s Mysterio, so who knows…he definitely seemed dead”.
