Avengers’ Endgame released in April, earlier this year, and was a massive success. But even after six months of its release, it is still breaking and making new records!
Avengers: Endgame released in April 2019, marking the official end of the Avengers’ era. The movie portrayed the closing of one era of Avengers’ as they beat Thanos, and made way for new superheroes to take place, after the original Avengers.
The movie was loved and appreciated by fans, all around the world. It was considered to be a cinematic gem, not only because of how great the story was but also for its technological innovations. It was a ‘marvel’ of innovations.
Almost half a year after it first hit the theaters, Avengers: Endgame continues to climb up in the record books. It has become an unprecedented success for Marvel Studios.
Before this, James Cameron’s Avatar has held the box office record for highest-grossing film, but as on September 14th, 2019, Avengers Endgame has surpassed Avatar and has become the highest-grossing movie. The movie made $2098 on Tuesday, breaking all records.
Avengers: Endgame has been running in the theatres for the past 139 days, almost on the verge of breaking the records of Avengers: Infinity War (which ran for 140 days) and Black Panther (which ran in theatres for 175 days).
The Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, Alan Horn, congratulated Marvel on this achievement. He said, “A huge congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thank you to the fans around the world who lifted Avengers: Endgame to these historic heights.”
On this achievement, the Russo Brothers, too, tweeted and thanked the fans, calling them the “greatest fans in the universe.”
Both Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame were massive successes for Marvel Studios. Avengers: Endgame is still running in the cinemas, and is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
