It has been long ten years since Ryan Seacrest was seen hosting the popular show American Idol. The world-famous music competition is coming soon, and Seacrest will be on host duty. The radio star is looking forward to working with his old crew.
Seacrest wants old team back
The Kelly Clarkson show saw the reunion of three Idol judges. Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell appeared on the show. Ironically they also reunited with Clarkson who was season one winner. Although not physically present, Seacrest joined the fun via Skype.
Cowell roped the idea of reuniting with his fellow Idol judges. “If I had one wish it’d be to make another show with us again. That would be my No. 1 wish,” Cowell said. Seacrest supported him, saying, “After seeing us in one place again and realizing the craziness that was and the chemistry that still is still there? I think it would be pretty fun.”
“What worked about that series was is that Randy, like myself, is an A&R guy, but also a record producer. Paula actually was a brilliant spotter of talent.”Cowell added further. Cowell also said that obviously, he is proud of the artists who were discovered. “It was the true legacy of the show,” he added.
Seacrest on his return
It looks like Cowell got his wish. Seacrest is happy to be on show again. “‘American Idol’ has been my home for 17 seasons and I can’t wait to return to the stage,” said Seacrest. “It’s the greatest gift to be able to play a part in discovering new talent with a franchise that has been such a relevant part of American culture for so many years.”
Seacrest,44, will continue hosting and producing his LA morning time radio show, ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest.’ He also played the role of a co-host and executive producer of ABC show ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan.’ The multitasking star also hosts the annual live show ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
The new season of ‘American Idol’ will launch in spring 2020.
