Sir Elton John reveals in his autobiography that he once saw the Queen slap her nephew across his face.
In his biography, Me, Sir Elton John talks about the incident in detail. He says that even though The Queen’s public image is not one of wild frivolity, he saw a different side to her that day, in private. Elton John reveals that in private, The Queen is pretty hilarious.
Recalling the incident, he said that The Queen approached her nephew Viscount Linley, and asked him to look in on his sister. His sister was ill and was in her room, resting. When Viscount Linley did not listen to her, she slapped him repeatedly across the face and told her not to argue with her.
The slaps went something like “Don’t” – SLAP – “argue” – SLAP – “with” – SLAP – “me” – SLAP – “I” – SLAP – “am” – SLAP – “THE QUEEN!” She ruthlessly and flippantly slapped him.
The Viscount was shocked, but the slaps did work, as he quietly scurried off to complete the work The Queen had given to him. The Viscount, who can also be the second Earl of Snowdon, is the son of the Queen’s solely sister and her husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones.
Sir Elton John also revealed that as the Viscount went away, The Queen looked the singer in the eye, and winked at him. She gave him a wink and walked off like nothing major had happened.
In his autobiography, Me, Sir Elton John has revealed more incidents regarding The Queen and The Royal Family. One such event was when Sir Elton saw Richard Gere and Sylvester Stallone fighting over Princess Diana at a dinner party. After Princess Diana’s divorce, it seemed that both the gentlemen were interested in her, and they got into a fistfight at a dinner party, over her.
Sir Elton John’s official autobiography is all set for launch on 15th October 2019.
