Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been removed from The Royal Foundation website list. The website includes the names of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
The two Royal Couples had decided to split up their charities, in May. At the time of the split, it was said that the decision of the division was because both the couples were choosing divergent paths in work. According to sources, the decision was a path of ‘natural progression’ and not a breakup.
After about five months of the split, the names of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been removed from the website. Their personal charity projects have also been removed from the projects listed on the site. However, their previous works still remain in the site’s “news” section.
After the split, the website is being revamped by Prince William and Kate Middleton. The foundation is now titled ‘The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.’
This foundation was created by the royal brothers, Prince Harry and Prince William in 2009. Kate Middleton came onboard in 2011, and Meghan Markle joined last year, both after their respective marriages.
Now the foundation is headed by only Kate Middleton and Prince William. The foundation will focus on five initiatives: mental health, conservation, service, young people and early years, and Kate Middleton’s child development initiative.
After the announcement of the split, the palace issued an official statement. It said, “Both couples will continue to work together on projects in the future, including on The Foundation’s mental health program, Heads Together.” The statement further stated that both couples were incredibly proud of what they have achieved together through The Royal Foundation, and will continue to work for the betterment of lives.
In July, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their new charity, which is known as “Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
