British professional boxer, Tyson Fury, is all set to make his pro wrestling debut in Saudi Arabia. The 31-year-old Fury made his professional wrestling debut at the age of 20 in Nottingham against Bela Gyongyosi. Fury defeated him in the first round itself. As an amateur wrestler, Fury used to represent Ireland and England.
On 4th October, Fury appeared in an angle on WWE’s debut of SmackDown on Fox. During this time, he stared down on Braun Strowman while his match was going on. This provoked Strowman into throwing one of his opponents, Dolph Ziggler, at Fury. After the game, an enraged Fury jumped the barricade to attack Strowman, but Security stopped him. This incident made the WWE announce that Fury would be given an opportunity for an open mic for the next RAW episode. Fury made an appearance on the last segment of the 7th October episode of RAW and demanded an apology from Strowman. This lead to an exchange of insults by the professional wrestlers.
Soon, they both got involved in a brawl, which was cooled down by some of Stowman’s side of fellow wrestlers. This was the genesis of the WWE Crown Jewel match scheduled between Fury and Strowman. It was just announced on 11th October. The game in Saudi Arabia is happening on 31st October. “How honored I am to be here and be involved in such a massive event in Saudi Arabia. Its a fantastic opportunity for me”, Fury said at a news conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, two days back.
Fury also said this opportunity is something he has dreamed of in his professional wrestling career. He has been a WWE fan for life, and its a fantastic opportunity for him. He has mentioned he will kick out Strowman in Saudi Arabia. He still wishes to be undefeated, he said. However, Strowman has bravely claimed that its Fury who is coming into his world, and he is looking forward to defeating Fury.
