A man who was accused of savagely beating a Transgender woman back in April will undergo trial this week. The transgender woman who was beaten died a month later, but the death is not related to this man who beat her.
Edward Dominic Thomas thrashed Muhlaysia Booker on April 12. The police who were probing this case confirmed that Edward Dominic Thomas admitted he battered Muhlaysia Booker in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas, outside of Royal Crest Apartments.
The video of few men assaulting Muhlaysia Booker was discovered, and the police were able to identify Edward Dominic Thomas as one of the muggers associated with the battery. Thomas was offered $200 to beat the 23-year-old transgender woman, police confirmed.
Booker at the rally spoke that she was beaten by a group of men publicly and demanded appropriate justice to land by her side. She was backed by many people of her community, along with the socially conscious people.
The jury selection for Edward’s case will begin on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, the testimony will begin for the Edward Dominic Thomas assault trial.
The 29-year-old attacker wore gloves and approached near Muhlaysia Booker and began to punch her. Edward was accompanied by two more attackers. But the other two were never arrested even though they were identified. People asked the Dallas police why they didn’t arrest the other two suspects, but there was no response from the Police Department.
Muhlaysia Booker is now dead. She was killed on May 18 by a gunshot. Her body was found on the street in Far East Dallas. The Dallas Police apprehend the suspect who shot Booker. Kendrell Lavar Lyles has been charged with the murder of Booker along with two other people. The murder of Booker and the other two people are also unrelated. Kendrell Lavar Lyles is awaiting the trial.
