Singing reality shows are always warmly welcomed. The spectators have a kind of liking towards them for the obvious reasons. The contestants mostly perform well-known and popular songs, which are a treat to the ears. Similarly, these shows have top celebrities as judges too. But as days progressed, we found these musical shows to be recurrent in nature. Shows such as The X-Factor, American Ideal, The Voice, etc. have been in the air for several seasons. Recently, Masked Singer franchise from South Korea has started a show named ‘The Masked Singer.’
What new about it?
Well, this show has it’s own new variation added to it. Basically, Celebrities are chosen, and each of them is given a costume that makes them wholly covered and unidentified. So, therefore, their identity is kept as a secret, and only performance is seen. This is something new and exciting as an element of identifying the celebrity, too, is added to it.
Recently in an interview with the Skeleton Singer(in the Masked Singer competition), he has revealed some interesting facts. As it is known now, it was Paul Shaffer. The comedian, cum TV show host, has told that the show is entirely based on secrecy, and hence, he had to follow the same. The skeleton singer also said that only his family knew (as the kids say ‘my team’) this and that everyone who knew it had to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
Paul also revealed the choice of costume. He said that they had an opportunity to choose, and he did want his skeleton outfit. He defended his decision by stating that he would instead choose this than others like ice cream cone or something. The comedian also jovially said that he and the skeleton became very close alter egos by the end of their journey.
Who all could find out the secret before it was revealed?
Paul said that his fellow host Dave Letterman had called his weeks ago. He knew about the non-closure stuff and hence has told, “You don’t have to say anything, but I know it’s you. I know how you walk.” That how he recognized me, he said. Paul proudly added that they were together every day for 33years, after all.
Apart from Dave, even people who were big fans of Dave’s late-night show recognized him.
