A 14-week-old baby was diagnosed with a rare form of tumor, which made him fall into a coma. Miraculously, the baby woke off after five days in a coma, and when he saw his father upfront, he smiled at him just after regaining consciousness.
On March 16, Emma and Stuart Labuschagne discovered that their 14-week-old son, Michael, was lying unconscious and unresponsive. They were terrified and took the baby to the hospital. They were told that the baby had induced a cardiac arrest and claimed that they had used a defibrillator to regain breathing, while they had injected adrenaline to ensure that heart and heartbeat remain in stable condition.
He was reportedly placed in the coma by the medics themselves so that the brain couldn’t be damaged more.
Michael has suffered from cardiac fibroma that is responsible for blocking any blood that flows through the heart. The baby’s tumor was reported to be 5 centimeters, or about 2 inches wide, which is considered too big for such a young baby.
The family, who lives in the UK, was exhaustedly shocked when the hospital told them that there are no surgeons in the UK who can perform such a difficult operation. After they were left with two options of either waiting or finding someone else abroad, they came to know about Boston Children’s Hospital in the US with a 100% success rate in Cardiac Tumour Surgery.
The family has agreed to cure his child no matter what the cost, but according to reports, it will cost them whooping $147,000 without considering other expenses.
Emma told that when the baby woke from the coma, recognized his dad, and smiled, she said that she had never felt prouder of him than that time. She also said that she would cherish every inch of her heart and claimed that the day was the happiest moment in her life.
