Captain Marvel co-star Lashana Lynch is reportedly set to play the character with codename 007 in the next upcoming James Bond film.
What James Bond 25 Has In Store For Her:
According to The Daily Mail, the 31-year-old actress will be introduced quite early on in the film. This also marks a historical event. Lynch will become the first female actress to play the iconic spay 007 in the James Bond Franchise. James Bond, meanwhile, will be played by Daniel Craig.
This 25th installment of the James Bond series, according to rumors, has a plot where Bond is brought out of retirement from where he lives in Jamaica to stop a global catastrophe. It’s still unclear what exact role 007 will play in action.
Lashana Lynch: The Movie That Brought Her Action Stardom
Earlier this year, Lynch played a supporting role in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. She took on the stong-female part of Maria Rambeau, a talented Air Force pilot who was best friends with the main character Captain Marvel or Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson. Her personality came mostly in the form of flashbacks and was believed to be dead in a plane crash years earlier.
A Casting Fairy Godmother
The woman behind this casting is reportedly Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is a part of the production of Bond 25.
She spoke about her role in the film in The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter a while ago. She’s hugely passionate about the female characters of the film and revealed that she tried to give the script some feminist humor and is working on making its female characters believable and real.
Bond 25, which doesn’t have a title yet releases on April 8, 2020, and hopefully, we’ll get to see Lashana Lynch play an iconic character when it does.
