It has been confirmed that Terence Nance, who was going to direct ‘Space Jam 2’, has exited this long awaiting project. After his exit, another director has taken the mantle. Malcolm D Lee will direct the upcoming sequel.
This new movie is a collaboration between Warner Bros. and SpringHill Entertainment. Following the same trend as Space Jam, at this time, we will see the professional basketball player LeBron James in the leading role.
Terence Nance left the much ambitious project as his ideas were not in sync with the producers. This resulted in a halt to this project, which ultimately resulted in exit Terence. He has directed mainly documentaries and short films. He has also directed content for television.
So to make the project once again moving, Malcolm D Lee became the director. Apart from him, reports have surfaced that Avengers: Endgame star Don Cheadle has joined the cast. Sonequa Martin-Green has also boarded the film’s cast.
Space Jam is a live-action/animated film which starred basketball player Michael Jordan. The story proceeds after the basketball star met the characters of Looney Tunes to help them to win a basketball match against aliens.
Its sequel was initially canceled, and other spins off series were proposed, which we never got to see. Spy Jam with Jackie Chan and Skate Jam with Tony Hawk were one of them.
Finally, in February 2014, it was officially announced that a sequel is in progress having LeBron James as the lead. In 2016, Justin Lin boarded to be the director. Later he left the project. After him, Terence became the second director to quit it.
