This week saw the loss of one of the biggest Philanthropists and Rancher Bob Norris. Earlier this week, we lost one of the pioneers at the age of 90. A face that was famous for any billboards of magazine covers always with a Marlboro cigarette on his hand or dangling along his lips wouldn’t be seen again in any other advertisement.
Norris, who was a well-famed cowboy and was able to maintain this image for 12 long years as a smoking cowboy, But the most astonishing part is he never touched a single cigarette. Forget about smoking never had the idea to smoke even a single cigarette in his lifetime. The guy whose smokes are famous all over the world didn’t smoke a single cigarette. Unbelievable right???
Norris first approached by an advertisement executive on his 63,000-acre ranch outside Colorado Springs when he was seen chilling with his actor friend John Wayne and son Bobby Norris. When asked if he is happy to be starred as the face of a popular brand of cigars that is Marlboro, Norris struggled a bit to say yes.
He said that he is busy right then, which was added by his son that If they needed to star him, then they might show up the next weekend to get to talk to him and make things final. But he executives found the real diamond in him and came back a new weekend to meet him and know his decision.
In the first Advertisement, about 2000 pictures were shot while Norris put that cigar on his lips. Bob, who never smoked a cigarette, told his children that he wasn’t quite convinced in ding something like this. Bobby said that children asked his father that if he doesn’t want them to smoke, then why does he do a cigarette commercial? The next day Morris quit the career that he had been pursuing for 12 years.
The star who was someone different from others with more moral values and ethics die. But no cause of death is still provided by the family. Fans feel that it might be something with age, but whatever be the reason this is sure that we lost another star from our sky. Deep condolences to the family and friends. May his soul rest in peace!!!
