A girl, just 16 months old, had to live her life without her mother after her father set ablaze to their Telford house, killing the mother, grandmother, and aunt in the process.
The incident was dated back in 2000, and the suspect Azhar Ali Mehmood was jailed for life after the authorities discovered that he was the responsible person for burning down the house and murdering three. But now, 19 years have passed and looked like the father might walk as a free man.
The 16-month-old, now 19, Tasnim, was brought on to give her opinion about the parole. But the girl had no clear idea why her father killed a mom. She went for answers through a three-part BBC documentary called Why Dad Killed Mum: My Family’s Secret. She discovered chilling reasons that shocked her. The vile father raped her mother.
The mother, Lucy Lowe, was impregnated by Azhar when she was 14and killed her when she was 16. The reports claimed that Lucy’s friend once reported that the father was in a relationship only to have sex. The father was nine years older than Lucy, and their relationship was bitter and quarrelsome.
While Tasnim was searching for answers for, she found out that her mum was groomed by a sex gang before her death. Lucy’s child grooming case was dubbed as the most horrible and worst case in the whole Telford.
The investigating journalist, Geraldine McKelvie, mentioned that the abusers threatened other sex abuse victims that if they report, they will come down at them and burn like Lucy. The girls in Telford were constantly groomed, raped, and even sold for sex trafficking.
Azhar Ali Mehmood was never charged with a crime relating to sexual abuse. The allegations might affect the parole, or he may serve further years in jail. But its unlikely to happen and the social monster could be free some time near.
