It’s CMAs 2019 time and big or small, every music fame will surely attend this event of the year, so the chances of Miranda Lambert, 36, coming face-to-face with Blake Shelton, 43, is high. Both of them are nominated this year, and with Miranda up for Best Female Vocalist, it’s not like she wouldn’t go. So, is she dreading a possible run-in with her ex? Not really. “Miranda won’t go out of her way to avoid Blake [at the CMAs],” a source close to the singer tells HollywoodLife. “She’s not worried at all about being in the same room as him.”
An eyewitness tells Us Weekly exclusively that “At the commercial break, they both left their seats. Everyone stood up to clap for Blake at the end of his performance except Miranda Lambert and her husband,”
The cold reception was in contrast to how Blake and his partner Gwen Stefani acted when Miranda took to the stage to sing her song. It All Comes Out in the ‘Wash,’ which featured a car wash setup framing her drummer. According to the same witness, the two singers ‘were nodding their heads while Miranda played.
Miranda and Blake announced their separation in July 2015 on the same day as an Oklahoma judge finalized the split.
The two had managed the difficult task of separating in private and kept their court filings out of the news.
At the time, Blake was married to his first wife Kaynette Gern, whom he’d married in 2003 he once expressed that “I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,’ he later said of the future couple’s duet. ‘I was a married guy, you know? Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.’
He filed for divorce in February 2006, though he claimed not to have started a relationship with Miranda until his first marriage was finished.
