A teacher from Texas was accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual relationships with two of her students, both aged fewer than 18. Now, the teacher has admitted having sex with them and has escaped the prison time after she agreed to the plea deal.
The 33-year-old Muenster High School teacher in Cooke County identified as Lynn Burge was sentenced five years in prison. The convict also has to pay $2,500 fine for each of the felonies in which she was charged.
The teacher was also charged with online solicitation involving a minor but was terminated as per the plea deal she agreed into. She pleaded guilty for the two counts that included having inappropriate relationships with a student and an educator. The victims were aged 16 and 18, and both were her students. The woman, who also happens to be the mother of her two children, should surrender her teaching license. But fortunately, she hasn’t been registered as a sexual offender in the state. This incident came into light after the Department of Family and Protective Services were tipped by an unnamed person in the locality. The authorities started the investigation and discovered Lynn involved in such immoral activity. The authorities retrieved her mobile phone in which they found the woman shared her nude pictures to the 16-year-old victim through Snapchat in 2017.
The authorities reported that the consumption of alcohol played an adequate role in concluding the sexual activity. The first case was in 2017 at Lynn’s house where she engaged in sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old after back-roading and drinking.
Another instance was on her birthday in March 2018, at the teacher’s house. Lynn escaped 50 years of her prison, which would have been possible if she was convicted.
