Just recently, a case of cannibalism has come up in Philippians. This case has terrified and shocked many citizens of Philippians. On Thursday, a man allegedly murdered a woman by decapitating her head with a gardening tool and used it as toppings on his rice.
The accused is identified as 21-year-old Lloyd Bagtong, who was arrested on charges of chopping off the head of an unidentified woman and murdering her. The headless body of the woman was found near Bagtong’s house in Barangay Putna, according to the reports of Channel News Asia.
Bagtong was seen walking with the woman that he murdered just before the incident, then allegedly spotted fleeing from his own residence as rumors started swirling about the headless woman, according to the report of Philippine Daily inquirer. According to the police, Bagtong killed the woman in a gruesome manner without any remorse. The police said that he used a gardening tool to chop off the head of the woman.
Bagtong admitted to the killing of the woman to the police and led them to the woman’s head, which he dumped in a hole near his house in an attempt to get rid of it so that no one would be able to identify his crimes. When he was questioned by the police about the reason for committing such heinous crimes, then he said that he was hungry and used her brains as topping on rice.
It is possible that Bagtong suffers from a mental condition that compels him to commit cannibalism and murder. He remains in police custody and awaits for murder charges to be filed against him according to some reports. Although the date for his trial has not been set, it is possible that he might have to serve a life sentence in jail or be contained in a psychiatric hospital or ward.
