After completion of Infinity saga in 2019, Marvel Cinematic Universe is ready to get back in business with phase 4. In San Diego, Comic-Con Kevin Feige announces the films in step 4 of MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of them. The latest news tells that the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will not start for some time. Thus casting for the film has not started yet.
On Monday night James Gunn who has directed the previous two Guardian movies, starts a chat with fans on Instagram. Both Marvel DC eager has so much to fans asked for. That is when the director dropped the news answering to the rumor of Zac Efron being cast as cosmic fan-favorite Adam Warlock. “I never even said there was going to be an Adam Warlock,” Gunn reminds fans. “And NO ONE has been cast in Vol 3 except the actors already in the movies.”
Adam Warlock is an essential character in Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War comics and Guardians’ storylines. We only see a glimpse of Adam Warlock in an Easter egg in a post-credits scene after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. According to Christopher Markus, who is a co-writer of Avengers: Endgame, the movie was utterly full of characters so that even a cosmic style can not fit anywhere.
“We didn’t introduce Adam Warlock because it’s a massive backbend, and you practically have to make an Adam Warlock movie to introduce him,” Markus previously revealed. “He can’t walk onscreen.
There might be a chance that Vol. 3 will be the last film in Guardians of Galaxy film series. In 2018 answering one of the fan’s questions on Tweeter director James Gunn said that Vol. 3 would end the trilogy. But it is not confirmed yet, because Marvel CEO Kevin Feige did not say anything about this. So let’s hope that we will get to see more of this cosmic adventure.
