A man from Florida was arrested by the police after his neighbor caught him on video beating up his dog unconscious. Although the intent of the man was not clear, there is not much to say according to the reports submitted by the police about the man who displayed such animal cruelty against his own dog.
According to the police department of The St.Petersburg the man identified as Cole Allen Herrmann was recorded on video footage by his neighbor, brutally beating up his dog in his backward at 5400 38th Avenue N. The police officers say that the dog who was beaten up was inside a metal cage at the moment when Allen was repeatedly hitting him on the head. They further say that after the man finished up beating up the dog in a gruesome manner, the video shows that the dog becomes unresponsive and is knocked unconscious due to the several beatings that he had been taking.
Colleen Allen Herrmann openly admitted that he ” spanked his dog too hard” to the police and was arrested on the charges of animal cruelty according to The Animal Welfare Act that was signed into law in 1966, which prohibits the ill-treatment of any animal.
After Hermann’s arrest, he was fined with a bond of $5000 for the authorities that he had committed against the harmless dog and was not given any prison time. Somehow, miraculously the dog survived the attacked on the head and was later surrendered by Herrmann Pinellas Animal Services, who are currently taking care of the dog.
Although there is not much to say in this case as the reports submitted by the police and are limited, what is clear is that animal cruelty is punished heavily in the United States and is considered to be very and immoral and inhumane.
