As per the reports, the star trek feature films may be exploring strange new world’s and abandoning the old story plans and possibly even changing the all too familiar cast.
The sudden departure of director SJ Clarkson, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pine in 2018 has left the fate of Star Trek 4 with a big question mark. But with the Lucy in the Sky, director, Noah Hawley coming on board last month, things seemed to be finally falling in place. However, according to actor Simon Pegg, the star cast of the star trek beyond, there is a fair possibility that Noah Hawley’s star trek project doesn’t star trek 4 at all.
In an interview about the uncertain future of the star trek franchise, with GoldDerby, actor Simon Pegg seemed quite unsure about the involvement of JJ Abrams-era cast or himself, in the Hawley’s unnamed star trek project. Noah’s project was previously considered to be star trek 4, but it seems like that is not the case after all.
Simon Pegg, in an interview, stated that he had no clue bout star trek 4 or about his involvement with it. He also said that Noah Hawley’s been hired to write for Star Trek, and he found it to be very exciting. While ending on the note stating that the project Noah has been working on, might not even be star trek 4.
Almost about two months ago, reports had it that Noah Hawley was on board to write and direct star trek 4 with crew members from the previous times including, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinton, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Karl Urban. But the recent statement of actor Simon Pegg tells otherwise. He isn’t even sure if he is a part of Hawley’s film. Moreover, it doesn’t also Star Trek 4, and it might just be merely a film set in the Star Trek universe.
The Paramount, to date has many times courted an auteur for directing a separate star trek film. Rumors have been spinning around for a year about an R rated Star Trek spin-off directed by Quentin Tarantino, which is in the halts these days. But actor Simon Pegg did confirm that Tarantino’s Star trek film was still in works.
It seems that all we can do till then is sit and wait for the star trek’s fourth sequel.
