A sickening man from Texas stole a pet horse from a 10-year-old girl and rode on it continuously to death. Now the vile man has been arrested by the police and charged with animal cruelty offenses.
Traveon Marqués Hillsman allegedly rode a 7.5-mile stretch (Brookshire to Fulshear) on the innocent pet horse and even returned the same way without providing rest to the animal. The arrest came after the public appeal was sent to the Brookshire police demanding his arrest.
The horse was discovered in a horrible condition outside H&E Equipment Services. When employees at the company went to check on the horse, he has already fatigued, but also they phoned for help so that the horse could survive. Other than riding those long lengths, the horse received violent treatment from the thief. The people around saw him thrashing the horse at its face and mouth. The police department also mentioned that he used indecencies while beating the innocent animal.
The suspect allegedly fled from the site moments before the officers arrived at the scene and discovered the exhausted horse, which died shortly afterwards. Brookshire police asked the Wallis Police Department’s help to locate the nasty perpetrator, in which they succeeded and found him some 27 miles away from Brookshire. Hillsman was at the residence in Austin County and was detained from there. He is now facing four charges that include animal cruelty, theft of livestock, and evading police arrest.
The grandfather, who had bought the horse for his granddaughter, told the ABC13 that when she finds that her beloved pet has died, it would shatter her heart. Hillsman could be sentenced up to two years in prison and must pay around $10,000 as fine.
