The post-apocalyptic thriller Black Summer is going to have its second season. Another eight episodes season will begin the production next year in Alberta, Canada.
Jaime King will be coming back as Rose, as well as serving as a producer. Karl Schaefer and John Hyams were the creators of the show. They were the showrunner for the first season. But Hyams will be the sole showrunner for season 2. Out of other cast members, Justin Chu Cary and Christine Lee will reprise their original roles.
“I can say this, just like Jon Snow had his revival and comeback, I think that since they don’t show the death of William… I’m going to leave it to the audience’s imagination to see what happens in the next season,” Sal Velez Jr said in an interview.
King already told that Syfy’s Z Nation is not connected to the Netflix series at all. “It’s interesting because people started tying Black Summer to Z Nation, and I’m like this has nothing to do with that. It’s not a link,” she said.
Further, she added, “I had never actually seen Z Nation or heard about Z Nation. And then people started putting it out there that it was like a prequel of Z-Nation, which it’s not. And there is no relationship, except that it came from the people that were involved with Z Nation.”
In an interview, Jaime King hinted that whatever the fans think is going to happen will not occur — thus making audiences eager for the upcoming season. She also said that every time she read the script, it’s like never expected things re in it.
So if you think that black Summer is just another Zombie killing show, then you are wrong. It is more than that. And as season 2 is on its way, it is an excellent time to watch it. Trailer for season 2 will release a month before the premiere.
