In a brutal incident, a rape victim’s father was murdered by the accused criminal who was out of jail despite his bail being canceled by the court. The incident took place during the early morning hours of Monday in Sadri village of Rajasthan’s Pali district. Several media reports, along with the public, holds the Rajasthan police accountable for this murder. Some say that the murder would have never taken place if the police would not be so negligent.
However, according to authorities, the man accused of rape broke inside the house of the rape victim and stabbed her father in the early hours of 1:30 am. During the incident, the mother and the brother of the rape victim tried to intervene and stop the accused from stabbing the father, but the accused stabbed them too.
In an attempt to flee, the accused was over rooftops to escape the crime scene but got injured and was later caught by the villagers, who handed him over to the police. The accused is identical to Dhannaram, a resident of another village in Pali, Rajasthan, known as Kishanpura. He also has a shop in Nasik.
In a complaint filed against him on November 10, Dhannaram took the rape victim to his shop in Nasik and allegedly raped her. The victim was identified as a minor, and according to police reports, she eloped with Dhannaram in July and returned back home in November and filed an abduction and rape case against him. After her complaint, a thorough investigation was conducted by the police. The accused was arrested and got an interim bail, but on 12th December, the interim bail was canceled by the court Pali, but the police did not arrest Dhannaram.
According to Pali SP Anand Sharma, Station House SHO Rajdeependra has been suspended for his incompetence and negligence in the case. The police will always be providing security for the rape victim’s family and will do everything they can to protect the family.
