Just a few months ago, a couple smacked a 2-year-old boy on his face for taking food off his step-sister’s plate. The incident was brought to light last October when a waitress reported to the police that she saw the mother of a 2-year-old boy slapping him on the face after he attempted to steal food off his sister’s plate last October.
The couple is identified by the police as 33-year-old Allen Nagle and 24-year-old Cortni Pitts. After the local police went to the house of the accused couple in Coldwater Township to investigate the case of child abuse, they found the child covered in all sorts of suspicious injuries.
The little boy was extremely malnourished, bruised, emaciated, and was suffering from a skull fracture on his head, according to the complaint which was filed. In a report, Nagle admitted that he struck the boy on the head several times and said: “I don’t know my own strength.” When Pitts was asked questions regarding her ill-treatment to her stepson by the judge, she said she was trying to “discipline him.” She was charged with “nutrition neglect” for starving Nagle’s son, but the rest of the kids were found absolutely healthy and well-fed.
The complaint filed against the couple shows that Nagle was aware that his song has drastically lost a lot of weight, which led up to the public smacking. The report stated, ” it is dramatically obvious that he is malnourished and starving.” Both the couple were sentenced to one year in jail and second-degree child abuse. Pitts was also fined a penalty of $ 1,100.
As of now, both the couple are in jail, carrying out their sentences, and the child seems to have gained weight after he went to a foster home and seems to be healthy and better than he previously was when he was living with his father and her stepmother.
