The Season 5 finale of Peaky Blinders had the viewers gasping in unadulterated shock as Tommy Shelby’s well-laid plans came crashing down like a house of cards disturbed.
Miserable and with battered spirits, fans are reasonably excited to see how he will get over the setback in the upcoming sixth season.
His relentless crusade against Oswald Mosley has hit an unfortunate roadblock, and now what remains to be seen is what new scheme will he cook for the downfall of the fascist leader.
The season finale cut off one of the options Shelby had to stop his opponent. At this point, one can only hope writers should be able to bring in something else to liven up his spirits and set him on the path of happily hunting Mosley again.
Will Finn’s confession, accepting the responsibility for the attempted assassination created sufficient tension in the storyline,
The act also promised ramifications on Shelby’s future actions as well. Polly’s exit from Shelby’s team on the heels of her fiancé’s untimely death does not bode well for our protagonist and his cause.
The writer, the Knight, has assured that he had finished writing the new season’s plot by December 2019. It is safe to say that the producers must have to be planning to start the filming process any time soon.
Cillian Murphy shall reprise his role as Tommy Shelby. Regardless of Polly’s departure, Helen McCrory might return for the new season. Paul Anderson, as Arthur Shelby, Harry Kirton as Finn Shelby, and Sophie Rundle, who plays Ada Thorne, are also expected to return in the new installment of the show.
As of now, no further details on cast additions are out.
