The popular teen drama On My Block will be returning to Netflix for its third season very soon. First beginning in 2018, the show, with its portrayal of four friends from the glamourous-yet-rough streets of Los Angeles, has won many fans. It’s good news for them, then, that the show is going to return to the small screen, with stakes that are higher than ever after the Season 2 finale. Read on to discover more! Warning: Mild spoilers ahead.
The second season debuted on Netflix last year, on the 29th of March. Roughly a month after it’s release, it was announced that the show had been renewed for a third season. This announcement came on the 30th of April, 2019. With the news that filming and production of the show have been concluded, fans should expect the third season sometime in 2020. It isn’t unreasonable to expect a March release, as both the first and the second season arrived on Netflix in March of 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Quite a few of the original cast are scripted to return, including Sierra Capri as Monse, Jason Genao as Ruby, Brett Gray as Jamal, and Diego Tinoco as Cesar. Julio Marcias, who plays Oscar Diaz, is also supposed to reprise his role. Fans will be pleased to know that he has been promoted to series regular. They may expect to see a lot more of Oscar in the third season than they previously did.
Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger. It is natural to assume that the third season will pick up where the previous left off, continuing the story from the kidnapping of the four friends after Monse decides to put her foot down and be done with the gang life. Hopefully, Season 3 will provide answers.
