Daringly raunchy, entertaining, and heartwarming at the same time, Netflix’s Sex Education was an unexpected gem. The smash-hit series swooped up everyone with its funny banter, well-written characters, and a solid storyline. We can imagine why people are eagerly waiting for the third season of the series.
CONFIRMED SEASON 3
Yes, it is confirmed. We are getting the third season of our beloved series soon. The confirmation for the third season came shortly after the premiere of the second season. Netflix has confirmed that the third season is in works as and from 10th February 2020. It is no surprise that Sex Education was able to find its audience.
Moreover, the crew seems to know exactly what to do to make the fans keep guessing. Just like season 2, season three, too, was announced with a teaser. It featured Gillian Anderson delivering a monologue about the benefits of sex education. If Netflix stays true to its current pattern of release, then we will get the third season by January 2021.
WHO WILL BE RETURNING IN THE THIRD SEASON?
Butterfield (Otis Milburn) and Anderson (Dr. Jean Milburn) will be returning. We also expect Emma Mackey (Maeve Wiley), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric Effiong), Connor Swindells (Adam Groff), and Patricia Allison (Ola Nyman) to reprise their previous roles.
WHERE IS THE SERIES HEADED NOW?
Series creator and writer Laura Nunn is already working on the script. In an interview she said “I love writing these characters. It’s such a big ensemble and I think the theme of the show – in terms of it being about sex and relationships – it really just offers up endless story opportunities.”
There are plenty of threads hanging in favor of the supporting characters for the writers to pick their stories from. For now, all we can do is patiently wait.
