The high-fantasy steampunk drama that is Amazon’s Carnival Row was released to critical acclaim in August of 2019. With its high-stakes plot, an accurate cast of talented actors, and excellent animation, fans could not wait for the announcement of a second season. Their wishes have been fulfilled. Carnival Row will return for Season 2. Read on to know more about the release date, cast, plot, and more on the show. Warning: Mild spoilers ahead.
Amazon has a heavy investment vested in Carnival Row. Producers want the show to perform well, both critically and commercially. The second season of the show was announced on the very day the first season was released: the 30th of August, 2019. However, Prime has not announced an official release date as of yet. Fans will have to wait and see when Season 2 will drop. However, since filming began in November of last year, speculation puts the release date at some time around early 2021, tentatively.
Cara Delevigne and Orlando Bloom were part of the reason behind the success of the first season. So, it makes sense to expect that they would reprise their roles in the second. Apart from that, none of the casting choices for Season 2 have been announced. Nothing has been confirmed. Fans would do well to await further updates.
Two of the major plot points in the first season included the Darkasher murders and the puzzling origins of Philo himself. In the end, it was discovered that our hero is, in fact, a half-fae, half-human hybrid. Hopefully, the second season will delve deeper into his backstory, and also give us some resolution to the new war on the fae.
