While there is no confirmation from the filmmakers of HBO’s popular show Big Little Lies, the cast members are confident that the series would be renowned for the third season eventually. The 44-year-old actress who plays the primary role in the drama series recently confirmed her long-time best friend; Jennifer Anniston will join for the series if the third season happens.
Big Little Lies was previously created as a limited-series for HBO by David E. Kelley in 2017. The show later became an instant hit, and the creators couldn’t hold but created the second season. The show was also nominated for whopping 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and won eight of them. The show includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, and Laura Dern in the pivotal role.
Neither HBO nor the series creators have spoken about the potential renewal of the third season. However, the president of HBO, Casey Bloys, has always been decisive in bringing the band together. Casey mentioned that he loves the group of people working for the drama series, but also he understands they are the busiest stars in Hollywood. As for now, the president thinks that the idea about the third season is not realistic.
Nicole Kidman, who is currently working for her own show—The Undoing—with HBO, said to Elle in 2019 that she would love to work in the third season as she likes to be reunited with her friends and provide such a good material. Laura Dern grabbed an Academy Award in 2020 and reported that she still wants to work in the third season.
Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston’s latest outing together was seen on The Morning Show that premiered on Apple TV+. They recently appeared in an interview with The Times, and Witherspoon asked Aniston to join her for Big Little Lies. Anniston is not attached to any project as for now except for the Friends reunion, which might have been already wrapped up. Season 2 had raised lots of questions for the fans, and Jennifer would be a great inclusion in the series if it happens.
