Jumanji: The Next Level was a hell of a roller coaster ride with mind-blowing adventures, entertaining performances, and somewhat breathtaking visual effects. The success of 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, became the driving point for Sony Pictures to develop Jumanji: The Next Level, and considering the reception received by the third installment, they would undoubtedly keep the franchise going, and there would be another fantasy adventure-comedy in a year or two.

As of now, the fourth sequel hasn’t been greenlit officially, but fan believes it’s just a matter of time because they think that the studio wouldn’t possibly leave fat cash stranded.

The veteran actor Dwayne Johnson (who plays Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone—an avatar in the film) recently hinted that there is undoubtedly another installment going to happen. During an interview in 2019, Johnson revealed that the villainous character that debuted in The Next Level is an avatar, and the potential sequel will dive into the depth of that character.

What to expect in Jumanji 4?

Jumanji kicked off in 1995 when two kids discovered a magical board game and play, only to unleash an adult man trapped inside (Robbin Williams) the game for decades and ultimately bring considerable dangers in the form of giant animals and series of calamities one after another.

They eventually concluded the game and restored everything is normal before dumping the game elsewhere. Twenty-six years later, a teenage boy discovers the magical board, which mysteriously turned into video-game and sucked another four teenagers who enter the game as a different avatar they chose.

The only way out was to complete the game with three lives and the challenges that come within. They later discover another victim trapped inside, but ascertaining their hidden strength, they complete the game and return to the real world with the victim.

Jumanji: The Next Level follows three years after the events of the second film and is again transported to the game to rescue their friend—who intentionally went back to the back after he was fed up with the real world. But this time, the game’s world was different, and the place wasn’t the same since they last visited.

The characters of Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black now need to save the game’s world, which is currently suffering from massive drought. Our beloved characters overcoming their trust issues and conflicted friendship finally save the game’s world from impending danger and brutal villain.

In the mid-credits scene, a heater mechanic is thrilled to discover the same video game, and when he approaches the game, the game malfunctions, and in another film sequence, we notice the same flock of pursuing ostriches running past the four teenagers.

So, for the next part, we can certainly assume that the avatars might have also escaped the game, and now those guys have their personalities and traits. It would be amazing to watch both avatars and real people team up to protect the real world from the threat of one possible villain- Jürgen, the Brutal.

Jumanji 4 Release Date News

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle arrived at the theaters in mid-December in 2017, and the sequel also released in a similar period—in mid-December 2019. So we can, in a way, expect the fourth installment to hit theaters at the same time around in 2021. But the movie might be released earlier or pushed back in 2022 because Dwayne Johnson starrer DC movie Black Adam has already been confirmed to release in December 2021.
